BMW Alpina – F30

The upcoming ALPINA B3, based on the new F30 3 Series, was spotted in Germany months ahead of its launch. Since ALPINA models are known for having the electronic speed limit removed, aerodynamic components at the front and rear become a necessity in order for the car to properly operate at high speeds.

The F30 B3 gets a new front apron in the typical unobtrusive ALPINA style. At the rear, the massive spoiler lip helps with downforce.
While the spotted test mule hasn’t yet feature the signature four tailpipes, the ALPINA engineers left space in the rear bumper for the upgraded exhaust system.

The interior will also get the usual ALPINA treatment, with upgraded trim and leather options, as well as the ALPINA steering wheel with SwitchTronic buttons.

Powering the new ALPINA F30 B3 is an upgraded turbocharged inline-six 3.0 liter engine which is based on the current state of the TwinScroll single turbo N55 unit. The power is expected to reach 420 hp just above the level of the current ALPINA B3 Biturbo S.

Diesel fans will also get spoiled with the successor of the D3 BiTurbo. The new D3 will take advantage of the double-pressurized four-cylinder diesel which now makes 218 hp in standard form.

ALPINA will debut the new F30 B3 at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.BMW-Alpina-B3-F30-Spyshots2
